“I got 93%! I feel like the course really prepared me for the exam with mock quizzes. The Class “M” VDV training course did a fantastic job of preparing me for the exam. Anne was diligent in getting us all the materials necessary to study, and the instructor went above and beyond on multiple occasions to give us a fundamental understanding of the principles of electrical work, and how to navigate and understand the often confusing Canadian Electrical Code book. I would absolutely recommend the course to my peers.”
Thank you once again, Anne! JEREMY NORQUAY, Installation Technician, CTS
Cabling is one of the fastest-changing technologies
Did you know that all electrical workers, including those working with low voltage are required to be licensed in Manitoba?
For over 16 years, Thomson Training Solutions has helped hundreds of technicians successfully gain, their low voltage “M” license (limited specialized trade license) by offering a 30-hour prep course four times a year prior to the Provincial Exam to reduce test anxiety and exam surprises.
In order to qualify for the course and to be approved by the government to write the exam, applicants must have 2 years of related work experience and 3,600 hours working under an “M” licensed holder.
An “M” class license is defined as a limited specialized trade license. Voice Data Video (VDV) M-V License holders are permitted to do all electrical work involved in, the installation, maintenance, upgrading, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of: signaling systems (which include nurse call and security systems, telephone, data, network, public address, community antennae television (CATV) and networking. As well, this license allows you to do a similar scope of work on alarm systems as permitted under the M-F license. The government has made significant changes to the exam and as such our course has been redesigned to reflect the new exam, and it is now an online instructor-led course that includes a new curriculum with a workbook to help students pass.
Call Anne now to get registered for the online instructor-led course. All materials including mock quizzes, CEC code book and theory books that you require are provided in advance of the course.
