We offer a customized approach to assessment and training based on decades of experience. We also assist employers facing skilled labour shortages or who need to upgrade employee skills and productivity to remain competitive.
Mining
Our work in the mining sector has taken us across northern Manitoba, including remote mining camps where access to skilled trades training is often limited. We have delivered hands-on and theory-based instruction across four key trades—electrical, machinist, heavy duty equipment technician, and millwright—tailored to meet the unique operational demands of these sites. By bringing training directly to the workforce, we help minimize downtime while maximizing skill development in some of the most challenging environments.
In addition to trade-specific training, we have supported workforce flexibility by providing over-the-shoulder mentorship for employees looking to expand into a second trade. Working directly alongside the mechanics in their day-to-day operations we coach them through real maintenance tasks, demonstrating best practices, and reinforcing safety and technical standards. This practical, on-the-job approach helps broaden their skill sets and build confidence in new competencies while continuing to perform their roles. Combined with structured theory training, we prepare participants to successfully challenge their national exams and achieve their Red Seal certification—strengthening both individual career pathways and the overall capacity of the mining operations.
The uplift in capability also opens the door for the company to bring on more apprentices, reduce its reliance on external contractors and create a more versatile and self-sufficient maintenance team. The overall result is a more resilient workforce, improved operational continuity, and a long-term talent pipeline built from within.
